Its a small to medium shrub with bright green, smooth and leathery ovate leaves that have as lightly wavy margin typically with a light lavender to violet-blue hue, they are borne in drooping, panicle-like clusters, each flower has five petals, with a slightly ruffled edge.
After flowering, the plant produces small, round, and berry-like fruits. These fruits are typically bright orange or yellow in color, and they grow in clusters.
