The Brief
A surface manipulation and creation project, deriving inspiration from the fabled fruit, Pomegranate, symbolic of life, fertility, resurrection, death, and the afterlife.
Using surface techniques such as dyeing, sewing, slashing, cording, crocheting, embroidery, applique, quilting etc, the form, colour, feel of the fruit and all its parts were abstracted into a textile collection, for home and apparel.

The Inspiration
Form Study & Palette Development
Keywords were chosen and the fruit was studied to then derive stripe rhythms that could be taken forward into various techniques of surface development like weaving, stitching, knitting etc.
