While remnants of a rich history and significant textile legacy still exist, unfortunately, contemporary artisans face innumerable challenges and then some. The preservation and reemergence of this legacy and skill within
the town of Farrukhabad takes prominence in this document as it explores the craft, its history, the beauty and beyond of its town, the people: their culture and traditions. It also inquires into the connections between this town and block printing across the subcontinent.

This is a first-hand documentation, the insights have been gathered through observation and conversations with artisans sustaining the craft, and secondary research through archival material.
